For me the most confusing part of chapter 5 is all of the different formulas. I understand how to solve an equation when it states what formula to use or series to look for. When solving the equations, that don’t have guidelines, I seem to run into dead ends. When solving an equation I find it very challenging to make the “best” substitution. Allison Wegner
For me knowing all the equations isn't the hard part, it's applying them that gives me trouble. I find it difficult to know which formulas and identities to use when. I will somtimes get stuck in a problem because I do not see the next step or I will take much longer than neccesary to solve something.
The most confusing part of Chapter 5 for me is knowing which identity to use when it needs to be used and properly solving some of the more difficult verifications.
The hardest part for me is being able to recognize which identities to substitute and some of the tricks involved to be able to make the switch. Also just solving equations using words can trip me up sometimes causing me forget basic algebra rules.
what confuses me the most is when to use each formula. Its hard to tell when to use some of the formulas. also it is hard to know where to go in certain steps. because the formulas get so long and confusing it can be hard to simplify.
I think the hardest part about Chapter 5 are using the half-angle formulas. Especially when there is a nested radical, and when you have to work with the + or -.

ReplyDeleteI get confused with equations and verifying identities using the double angle formulas. I get stuck with what to substitute to simplify things.
ReplyDeletethe most confusing for me is looking at an equation and figuring out which identity, if any, to substitute in because there are so many.

ReplyDeleteI honestly think the hardest part is the algebra behind it. Substituting one equation for another isn't hard it's all of the steps that come after.
